Non-Continuous Supports vs. Traditional Wire Basket Tray
When it comes to supporting data cable pathways, contractors must consider whether using a non-continuous support system is better than traditional wire basket trays. Although wire basket trays have been a more common means to support cables, another solution should be considered. An economical alternative to trays, non-continuous supports help maintain performance while providing built-in capacity limits and separation between bundles.

What is the ANSI/TIA-568 Standard Series?
ANSI/TIA 568.0-D for Generic Telecommunications Cabling requires a minimum bend radius of four times the cable diameter for four-pair balanced twisted-pair cable during and after installation. For a typical CAT 6A cable (about ¼” diameter), the bend radius for cable supports such as a J-Hook needs to be at least 1 inch. This standard is meant to ensure quality performance and connectivity, support technological innovation, and provide superior, globally accepted products.
CHOOSING A SUPPORT SYSTEM:
Wire rope support systems provide many benefits that make them superior to threaded rod, jack chain, and metal strap. Learn more about how wire rope performs better than metal strap.
DROP-IN LOOP HANGER:
Traditionally, loop hangers have been commodity products that are mostly similar across manufacturers. Although they are low in material cost and sufficient at holding pipe, they can be very costly because of the long, tedious installation process. Most contractors typically install pipe by sliding each section through the hanger individually and then adding turns, sprinkler heads, and branch lines later. The whole process is timely and involves hours of dangerous overhead work.
The CADDY Drop-in Loop Hanger makes installation much simpler and quicker. Because the pipe does not need to slide through the hanger, large assemblies can be prefabricated on the ground and installed in one piece.
